Catherine Carlson

Catherine Carlson

Catherine Carlson was born and raised in Texas but is proud to have made Oregon home for many years. She is a retired teacher, having taught preschool through third grade, and also served many years as a school district administrator. She and her husband Craig, who met at the University of Idaho, have been married 43 years and have two daughters and two young grandsons. She enjoys yoga and pickleball, and loves hosting big family gatherings.

Josh Graves

Josh Graves

Josh Graves is the CEO of Catholic Community Services (CCS) where he has served in a variety of roles for 22 years.  Prior to his employment with CCS Josh worked for the Oregon Youth Authority and in residential treatment centers for youth.  He holds an MBA from George Fox University and a bachelor’s degree from PSU in Social Science with a minor in Administration of Justice as well as a PSU certification in Profiling and Violent Crime.  Josh was raised in Garibaldi, Oregon and has been a rotary member for about four years, starting at the downtown Salem rotary before transitioning to the East Salem Rotary Club in May of 2021.  In their free time Josh and his family enjoy boating, camping, hunting, fishing and crabbing.  Josh also enjoys training his chocolate Lab/Kelpie mix “Havana” who is never quite sure if she is supposed to retrieve things or herd them.

Katsumi

Katsumi Itoh

Katsumi Itoh has been a Rotarian for 34 years where he has been very active on the District 5100 Youth Exchange Committee.  Katsumi was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan.  His studies abroad brought him to Salem, Oregon where he attended and graduated from Willamette University.  He became a United States citizen in the late 1970s.  He worked for the State of Oregon in the Department of Human Resources for 33 years before he retired in 2003.  He is an avid golfer and outdoor sports fan and has put his love of sports to good use by coaching youth sports for over 15 years, including wrestling, basketball, soccer, softball, and baseball.  Katsumi and his wife have two grown children and three grandchildren, all living on the east coast.

John King

John King

John King was born and grew up in Salem, Oregon where he received all of his education attending Bush Elementary, Leslie Junior High, South Salem High School, and Willamette University. John was a gifted athlete. He was inducted into the South Salem High School Athletic Hall of Fame and the Willamette University Athletic Hall of Fame as a team member.   He was employed in the insurance industry for 39 years, 29 of those years with State Farm Insurance working in the Commercial Fire and Auto Underwriting divisions.  John has three children, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

Erik Larson

Erik Larson

Erik hails from Springfield, Illinois, and graduated from the University of Illinois, where he studied history and civil engineering.  He worked as a civil engineer for the EPA in its initial years, and had a Salem law firm for 25 years, then worked as a municipal and circuit court judge, before being appointed to the Employment Appeals Board, deciding labor law cases.  He played trombone in the Salem Pops and enjoys family, skiing, and the outdoors.

David Leonard

David Leonard

David is a business lawyer with a special interest in agriculture.  He also raises wine grapes, grass seed and Douglas fir on his family farm in the Waldo Hills east of Salem. David enjoys fishing for salmon and steelhead, as well as any time spent in the outdoors. His wife Pam works in OHSU’s fertility clinic. They have six children and four grandchildren. He has been a member of ESR since 1973 and prizes his club trip to Guatemala to plant trees grown in the club’s seedling nursery. 

Pat Mack

Pat Mack

Pat Mack grew up on a farm east of Hubbard, attending school in Hubbard and graduating from North Marion High School. She graduated with a BS and MS from OCE (Western Oregon University). After teaching for several years, she earned an administrative license from PSU and became a secondary level building principal in Salem Keizer district for over 20 years.  After retiring, she worked part time as a hearings officer for the SK district and operated a floral design business from her home. She joined West Salem Rotary Club in the late ’80’s and served as WSR club president. She has been a member of the East Salem club since 1996. Pat and husband Ted, have 2 adult daughters and 3 granddaughters. They also have hosted 3 Rotary exchange daughters. Pat likes traveling, especially internationally, gardening, reading and family gatherings.

Ted Mack

Ted Mack

Ted Mack grew up in Stayton, Oregon on his family farm. He attended Regis High School where he played football and ran track. He then went to Southern Oregon College for three years before transferring to OCE (Western Oregon University), graduating in 1974 with a BS in Education. He taught Special Education for several years before pursuing other career opportunities. He returned to teaching in the mid 90’s and received a Master’s in Education in 1997 and his school administration license from Portland State University in 2000. He worked at Chemawa Indian School as a teacher and school administrator for over 24 year until his retirement. He and his wife, Pat, have two grown daughters and three granddaughters.  He has been a member of East Salem Rotary for over 10 years and is currently the club’s treasurer.

Kevin Mannix

Kevin Mannix

Kevin Mannix is the current club president.  Kevin was born in New York and spent much of his youth living in South America, as his father was a foreign service representative.  He is a proud graduate of the University of Virginia Law School and has run his own law firm in Salem since 1986.   He is also an engaged politician having served in the Oregon State Legislature as both a Representative and a Senator.  Kevin and his wife, Susanna, have been married for 47 years and have three grown children and five grandchildren.  Kevin enjoys serving his community and is active on many boards, including many Catholic organizations.

Michelle Mhoon

Michelle Mhoon

Michelle Mhoon, a native Oregonian, is currently serving as club secretary.  She is an attorney by training and is currently working as the Community Projects Director for the Mannix Law Firm.  She is a mother to three high schoolers and loved watching her twin boys play in the Little League World Series in 2019.  Michelle enjoys running, cooking, and escaping into the great outdoors.

Corina Moore

Corina Moore

Corina is a teacher and mid high vice principal at Blanchet Catholic School in Salem, Oregon.  Her husband, Todd, is also in education and her son, James, a graduate of Blanchet, is currently attending George Fox where he is playing basketball and preparing to be a teacher too.

Rhonda Prodzinski

Rhonda Prodzinski

Rhonda Prodzinski is currently a co-chair for the community service committee. She was born and raised in northern California but has called Salem her home since 1988. She is a proud graduate of Cottey College and Oregon State University. She worked for the State of Oregon for over 28 years and held professional and management positions for the Oregon Department of Human Services for over 12 years. Since 2017, she has worked for a federal contractor and currently serves as a project manager. Rhonda and her husband Dan have three grown children and one grandson. Rhonda enjoys spending time with family, cooking and the outdoors. 

Robin Smith

Robin Smith

Robin Smith currently serves as the Principal of Blanchet Catholic School. Both Robin and his wife of 14 years, Dollie, are graduates of Blanchet. Robin is a lifelong Salemite. Living outside of Salem only to go to the great city of Corvallis to attend Oregon State University and then a brief stint in St Louis MO. Robin’s hobbies include working on projects around the house, playing golf, or anything with his wife and three boys. 

Bob Weber

Bob Weber

Bob Weber currently serves as the President of Blanchet Catholic School, located in NE Salem.  He has worked in Catholic education for nearly 30 years as a teacher, coach, and administrator.  He and his wife Christina have been married for 18 years and have three children.  Born and raised in Oregon, Bob enjoys spending time with his family, reading, and playing golf.  This is his first year in Rotary, having joined as part of the corporate membership with Blanchet.

Nicole Weston

Nicole Weston

Nicole Weston is an attorney in Salem that focuses on Victims’ Rights and Public Safety.  Nicole grew up in the area attending Regis High School and University of Portland.  Nicole attended Seattle University Law School and worked as a Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for nearly 16 years.  Nicole returned home to Oregon about two years ago and joined East Salem Rotary upon her return.  Nicole is currently the President-Elect for East Salem Rotary and is extremely excited for her Presidency for the 2022-2023 Rotary Year.

Carlton Wise

Carlton Wise

Carlton Wise was born and raised in Mt. Olive, Mississippi which is an hour south of Jackson and two hours north of the Gulf Coast. He has worked in Catholic education for 30 years as a teacher, coach, and administrator. He currently serves as a teacher and the high school vice principal of Blanchet Catholic School, located in NE Salem. He worked as a teacher at Mercy Cross High School in Biloxi, MS for ten years where he met his wife Danielle. He followed Danielle to Oregon where they were married and have two children, Carson and Carly, who are both students at Blanchet Catholic School. Carlton enjoys cooking, coaching, and inspiring stories.
