This holiday season, the Fostering Hope Initiative hosted pop-up shops that allowed 150 – 200 families to choose and wrap gifts for each other. East Salem Rotary stepped up again this year to help provide many of these gifts as well as wrapping supplies. With the help of an anonymous donor, our club was able to help ensure that all families were able to receive gifts for Christmas this year at the shops. The East Salem Rotary Club also provided volunteers for Santa and his Elf for the Fostering Hope Initiative’s annual Santa Meet-and-Greet Event, which we have done for several years. Santa and his Elf met with children from East Salem neighborhoods, while families enjoyed hot chocolate and sweet breads and decorated picture frames for their photographs with Santa.
