It’s spring cleaning time — a perfect time to donate your unwanted items for the East Salem Rotary garage sale! Pat Mack and Karin Holton are already busy pricing items turned in by members last Friday. Please bring your items to our next Friday luncheon.

Pat and Karin are also looking for volunteers to help on that day. Please sign up to set up, act as security, take money, clean up or take leftovers to Goodwill. A big thank you to Dave Leonard for letting us store the items in his barn for now, and to Ron Hanna who helped ferry items to the barn last Friday. This fund raiser will help McKay seniors purchase caps and gowns for graduation. We want to raise $500 — please help! See below for more information.

Speaking of spring, Earth Day is this Friday, April 22. We will get a heads-up about the day with Vic Baker’s next guest speaker, along with a discussion about climate change. Vic is really hitting all the hot topics this month!

If you are able, be sure to attend the fire prevention puppet show at Waldo Middle School this Thursday between noon and 1:00 p.m. A group from Nogales will be presenting the puppet show and will also be attending our Friday luncheon. During the luncheon, the Nogales visitors will be presenting the Portland Fire Department and our club with a token of appreciation for all we have done for them.

And don’t forget to join us for Rotary at Work on Saturday, April 30 at La Placita.   There are a wide variety of projects we can help with — and pizza will be provided when we finish at noon.   Come for an hour or stay for the morning!
