Ranae Quiring, principal of McKay High School, welcomed East Salem Rotary members to the school for our meeting on Friday, December 16th. We had a fun time, and it was nice to continue this tradition of meeting at McKay right before the holiday break. We also celebrated Rotary students of the month from Waldo and Stephens Middle Schools.
McKay’s culinary arts students provided a delicious gourmet lunch for Rotarians, guests and students of the month, and orchestra students played great music for us. We met in the school’s College & Career Center, which is located in the recently added wing that also includes a larger library.
This was a wonderful opportunity for McKay to showcase some great things happening in their school! The culinary arts teacher shared information about the program and how students use the skills they learn at school in their jobs during and after high school. A big thank you to the administrators and students who welcomed us into their school!
