The former Salem Sunrise Rotary Club planned this bike project last year and completed most of the activities in May, distributing 45 new bicycle helmets and 5 refurbished bikes to children in the Grant and Highland school communities. Since a planned bike rodeo at Grant Elementary was not feasible due to the pandemic, club members Rhonda Prodzinski, Keith Martin and Evan Sorce worked with Northwest Hub director Kirk Seyfert to organize a work party on Wednesday, July 28th. They took apart donated bicycles, and some of the parts will be saved for reuse. Thanks to these dedicated club members for taking part in this challenging task and helping provide needed bicycles for area children! Kirk Seyfert will speak about the Northwest Hub at our September 17th Rotary club meeting.
