The Rotary Club of East Salem once again helped support an ongoing project to provide donated fire gear and medical supplies to fire departments in Mexico. Recently, local firefighters collected outdated or used gear, as well as a used fire truck, to donate to the fire department in Obregon, Mexico. A group of firefighters from Obregon visited our Rotary Club to talk about the project, before they transported the supplies to Mexico. This is a legacy project for East Salem Rotary–we have been helping facilitate the transporting of firefighting and medical equipment to a number of communities, including Nogales and Guaymas, Mexico, and to Guatemala before that, over many years. We appreciate the support of this project by the Woodburn Fire Department.
